About Chef Ingrid
Chef Ingrid Shim has a decade of culinary experience. She moved to the U.S. from Taiwan in 2005 and graduated in 2006 from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena with a degree in Patisserie and Baking. Chef Ingrid then worked as a chocolatier in luxury hotels in Beverly Hills for five years. Always eager to learn, Chef Ingrid continued to travel and take courses from top chefs, including the Meilleur Ouvriers de France (the best craftsmen in France).
In 2012 Chef Ingrid moved to Anchorage, Alaska, after having fallen in love with the natural beauty of the Last Frontier. She purchased a cake shop in 2013 and turned it into Sweet Chalet in 2014. Now the home for Alaska’s highest-quality chocolates, Sweet Chalet is where Chef Ingrid combines her love of cooking, art, and Alaska, and her unrelenting pursuit of confectionary perfection.
